Weight-loss then maintaining Healthy lifestyle? Or Healthy lifestyle leading to weight-loss?
If you’re a fairly active person who has a bit of weight to lose because you have taken to eating a bit unhealthy lately, then simply beginning a healthy lifestyle while increasing your workout regiment should help.
This is your plate:

If you’re a person who lacks physical activity, is over-weight or obese, then, your plate should look like this:

(Add more veggies and/or fruit)
I know most nutritionists will have a fit at this, but nutritionists are there to help you live healthy, and the benefit of that is losing weight. So, nothing wrong with eating a bit of starch. However; if you have a lot of weight to lose, then putting carbs for your body to burn for energy doesn’t really make sense, does it? What you want your body to do is burn your fat for energy. If it’s burning the carbs you’re eating, then it’s not burning the fat.
This is what I was told by an internist physician at a conference a week ago, and it made perfect sense to me.
Anyway, if you have a lot of weight to lose, you can cut back on the starch until you get to the point of maintaining your weight through a healthy lifestyle in my opinion.
